Why generic software fails Indian dairy owners
Across thousands of Indian towns, colonies, and village clusters, dairying follows a demanding, clockwork rhythm. Operators wake before 5:00 AM for the morning collection shift, jump onto motorcycles or auto-rickshaws for the morning Pheri (delivery round), manage walk-in counter sales through the afternoon, and repeat the cycle every evening.
Standard accounting software assumes a desk, stable Wi-Fi, English terminology, and double-entry accounting. Consumer delivery apps treat milkmen like gig-economy delivery drivers. Neither understands the realities of 2D FAT/SNF rate charts, daily customer milk suspensions, passbook ledgers, or spot settlements in village collection centres.

Four Non-Negotiable Principles
Every screen, calculation, and data structure in DoodhPheri adheres to four foundational rules.
1. Offline Sovereignty
A delivery round cannot pause because mobile signal dropped in an elevator or village alley. All daily actions execute against a local SQLite database immediately.
2. Exact Integer Math
Money is stored exclusively in integer paise. Milk volumes are recorded in millilitres. We eliminate floating-point rounding errors in all ledger summaries.
3. Immutable Ledgers
Financial records are never quietly deleted or mutated. If an operator makes an entry error, an explicit compensating reversal is posted with an audit reason.
4. Operator Dignity
Designed for busy operators with wet or milk-dusted hands: large tap targets, Hindi terminology, high-contrast sunlight readability, and voice-assisted input.
